BEDFORD, Mass. – August 19, 2002 – EnvoyWorldWide, a provider of real-time interaction management solutions, today announced that RETX, a pioneer in Web-based solutions for the electric industry, has selected EnvoyXpress to provide voice functionality for its Notification Manager solution. To proactively avoid seasonal service and power disruptions, the New York ISO (NYISO) with its charge of managing New York State’s electric power grid and wholesale electricity markets is utilizing RETX’s Notification Manager to operate its Peak Load Reduction program. Building on two highly successful load response programs implemented last year, the NYISO has expanded its demand response initiatives for 2002. RETX has built a comprehensive, Internet-based service, whereby participating companies are notified to either conserve or generate energy onsite in the event of load emergencies or price escalation. To complement this offering, RETX has integrated EnvoyXpress’ voice messaging capabilities. The use of sequential touch points provides NYISO customers advanced warning, increased time to act on curtailment initiatives, and better overall service.
